It’s that time of year! Along with the beautiful weather, we enjoyed a chili cook-off at church and a weenie roast and bonfire at a friend’s home. As the weather begins to cool, please remember to send a jacket or coat with your kids as we will continue outdoor recess as long as the temperature permits.
On Monday, I’m going to allow students a day to take a look at all the fantastic projects that were turned in. Also, students will play some of the board games that students invented. All plate tectonics projects have been graded and recorded as part of the 1st quarter grade. However, the test will be the first score on 2nd quarter’s grade since there were several students who were absent or did not finish on Friday. On Tuesday, we will begin our unit on fossils. This is chapter four in the text.
This week is Red Ribbon Week! Help your students celebrate being drug-free by participating in several fun spirit days planned by student council. Monday is Team Gear day (dress in your favorite team’s gear), Tuesday is Crazy day (come in your craziest outfit), Wednesday is Celebrity Day (come dressed as your favorite celebrity, rock star, or superhero), Thursday is Video Game day (dress as your favorite video game character), and Friday is Twin day (pick a friend or two and dress alike).
Our Fall Book Fair and “One for Books” change drive begins Thursday, 10/20. Please plan to come by the book fair and support our school’s library by making a purchase. Also, send in your spare change to benefit families in need of books! The book fair will be open through parent teacher conferences next week, so please plan to stop by.
Our 1st quarter I-choose assembly will be this Friday, 10/21. Students have been working hard all quarter to earn stamps with their above and beyond behavior!
First quarter grade cards will be handed out at parent-teacher conferences next week. If you haven’t scheduled a conference, please do so with your child’s homeroom teacher!
Fall parties will be this Friday at 3:00 pm.
Have a great week! 🙂
