I hope everyone enjoyed the four-day weekend. We had family in town from both sides, so we did a lot of running. It was one of those weekends where I need another weekend to catch up!
This week in science, students will continue learning about the properties of soil. Students will compare different types of soil by conducting different test to describe different properties, like pore space and pH. Students will also begin studying the effect that humans have on the soil and how soil can be conserved. There will be a short test over this unit coming up next week. I will be sure to keep you all posted on the test date, as well as study groups and reviews.
This week, students will begin scheduling for 7th grade. Mr. Compton will visit our class during music this Friday. Be looking for the paperwork to come home then.
Thanks so much to all parents who were able to send in items for our ‘soil sundaes.’ I think students enjoyed this learning activity. Be sure to ask them about those soil horizons!
This Friday is a 25 cent hat day to benefit “Kids Against Hunger.”
Have a great week! 🙂
