It sure felt like summer on this “unofficial end-of-summer” weekend. I hope everyone enjoyed the extra day off. We threw a surprise party for my sister-in-law’s 40th birthday so our weekend was filled with food, family, and fun!
This week in science we’ll continue our study of the scientific method. Students will learn to write hypothesis and how to design an experiment. By the end of the week, we’ll also begin learning about qualitative and quantitative observations. Thanks to all who brought in sponge animal capsules for our end-of-unit experiment. Students should be bringing home information on this by the end of next week.
As the weather continues to be warm, please be sure you have gone over the handbook policy regarding the dress code. I’ve already had to send several students to the nurse for dress code violations. Shorts must be worn so that, at minimum, the fingertips touch the hem when the arms are at the sides. Spaghetti strap style tanks are not allowed and undergarments of any kind should not be showing.
The Tiger Card fundraiser is in full swing! This is our most important fundraiser of the year, so if your students have not informed you of this, be sure to ask them about it. Cards are ten dollars each and are good for discounts at many businesses in the Willard area for the next calendar year. Grab yours now!
Several clubs are now picking up steam. Girls on the Run began meeting last week and will meet each Tuesday and Thursday. Our first Cooking Club is already full, and permission slips are still being accepted for Lego Club, Shooting Stars, Drama Club, and Go Green Club. Also, the first running club meeting of the year will be held this Wednesday. It’s not too late to sign up for clubs!
Have a great week! 🙂
