Week of October 22nd

This week in science we will continue to learn about how different plate movements affect Earth’s surface. We’ll focus on mountains, volcanoes, and earthquakes. I have tentatively scheduled the test for this unit at the end of next week, but I will announce the official date as we get closer. Please be encouraging your child to complete their plate tectonics projects as these are due no later than Monday, October 29th.

I have scheduled a conference for each student in my class and sent a reminder home with each student. Please be sure to come at your scheduled time as I have made arrangements for childcare in order to be here late each evening. If you cannot come at your scheduled time or are not sure what your time slot is, please  let me know as soon as possible. If at all possible, please make arrangements for your student to attend their conference with you.

The book fair will be open all week, including hours into the evening during parent-teacher conferences. Be sure to stop by and support our library. We will also participate in the “All For Books” challenge, so send in your pocket change to drop into our class bucket.

Our Red Ribbon Week Assembly is this Tuesday 10/23 at 9:50 am.

Due to parent-teacher conferences, the only club meeting this week is Girls on the Run. All other clubs and after-school activities are cancelled.

REMINDER: No School on Friday, October 26th!

Have a great week! 🙂
