Week of November 18th

This week in science students will continue to study Earth’s history and fossils. We will focus on techniques used by scientists to determine the age of rock layers and fossils. We will also look for similarities and differences between extinct organisms and modern day organisms. Students will use this information to make inferences about the changes on Earth throughout history. I’m aiming for the test to be next Monday or Tuesday before we leave for Thanksgiving Break.

Our annual food drive continues though the end of this week. Please try to donate an item as this food drive benefits families right here in our school. You may donate any non-perishable food item, but to increase variety in the food baskets, yellow team has been asked to focus on peanut butter, jelly, and cereals.

Second quarter progress reports go home this Tuesday. Please be sure to sign and return the top portion to your child’s homeroom teacher.

Don’t forget! There is NO SCHOOL November 27th-29th for Thanksgiving Break. I hope you enjoy the holiday with your family!

Have a great week!

~Mrs. Rasco 🙂
