Week of January 13th

I wish I could say that this will be a totally normal week, but once again- life has thrown a curveball. I will have to be gone a couple of days this week after learning of a death in the family. Rest assured though- I’ve left great lessons for my substitute to teach along with Mr. Nilsen’s help! Students will dive into the rock cycle and learn more about the processes that change rocks. Early in the week, they will be creating a comic strip about the journey of a rock through the rock cycle. Later in the week, students will review the three types of rocks and how they form. They will begin to create a trifold brochure that they can keep in their science notes.

Normal clubs and after-school activities should be back on track this week!

Grade cards were sent home on Friday. Be sure to sign and return the top portion to the hoomeroom teacher.

Please check with your child about school supplies. We are halfway through the year and some kiddos may be running low on paper or pencils, or might need a new supply of colored pencils or markers! Let me know if you need help with school supplies.

This Friday is a $1 PJ day. Please remember to send your child in appropriate shoes on a PJ day.

Please be sure to send your child with a coat each day. We will go outside as long the temperature is 32 or above. If you need help with providing a winter coat for your child, please call our office at 742-4242.

Have a great week!
