This week in science, students will continue to study soil. Our goal this week is to learn more about what soil is made of. students will also examine various properties of soil like texture, pore space, and soil chemistry. If you haven’t already, please try to dig up a soil sample to send in for our soil properties lab. Thanks to everyone who donated food items for our soil horizons activity!
Throughout this week, our Student Council is collecting snacks for our ‘local heros.’ To show thanks to our community helpers like police officers, ambulance drivers, and firefighters, they will be assembling baskets of snacks. If you’d like to donate to help make this project a success, please send in prepackaged snacks like granola bars, beef jerky, gum/candy, bottled water, soda, juice, trail mix, etc.
All middle school scheduling forms are due by Tuesday, February 18th.
Don’t forget to be checking your child’s agenda nightly. Each teacher has an agenda board with class activities and assignments. Your child should be able to use their agenda as an organizational and school-home communication tool. Try offering rewards/consequences for this important behavior to encourage them to develop this daily skill in preparation for middle school.
Have a great week!
