Week of March 31st

It’s going to be a busy week in science. On Monday, we will go over the Unit 7 postformative. Students will be given their score so be sure to ask them to see it. Students who have any standards in remediation will be given the opportunity to take the summative after getting some additional help during I-time. The rest of the week, we will begin Unit 8 over weather. We will begin by studying wind and then move into other weather factors like air pressure, air masses, and weather fronts.

Our fundraiser continues through Thursday morning. We set a class goal of 168 tickets sold and we are fast approaching that goal! Please encourage your student to sell those ‘Chance to Win’ tickets. Prizes will be given away at Talent Night. Winners do not need to be present to win. Prizes given away include an Acer Chromebook, XBOX 360 with Kinect, and an Ipad Air.

Don’t forget! Our annual Talent Night will take place THIS THURSDAY! Admission is free so come down for a night of grand entertainment. Like last year, it will be held at the high school theater. Starting at 5:30, there will be a pre-show and refreshments for sale.  Fifth grade acts will begin at 6 and sixth grade acts will begin around 7. There will be some teacher acts sprinkled around in-between. Hope to see you there!

REMINDER- This Friday is an early release at 12:30.

School is IN SESSION on Friday, April 18th AND Monday, April 21st. These are snow make-up days.

MAP testing will begin Tuesday, April 29th. Sixth grade students will be tested in the areas of Communication Arts and Math. Please make every effort to avoid scheduling appointments during school hours throughout the week of MAP testing.

***As the weather warms, I want to remind students and parents about dress code. It may be a good idea to revisit the school dress code policy in the student handbook which can be found here. Shorts and skirts must be of the length described in the dress code policy. Also, tanktop straps must be wide enough and undergarments should not be visible. Students who are in violation of the dress code are sent to the nurse to change.***

Have a great week!

~Mrs. Rasco and Mr. Nilsen 🙂
