Week of April 21st

This week’s learning targets for science:

  • Explain the difference between weather and climate
  • Identify and describe factors that affect climate (latitude, altitude, proximity to large bodies of water, winds)

By the end of this week, students will begin to prepare for our postformative assessment over weather and climate. A study guide will be sent home Wednesday. Study groups will be offered BEFORE school at 7:45 am on Thursday and Friday. The assessment will be on Friday.

Students in my homeroom will walk to Zott’s on Wednesday of this week. Remember, this date is rescheduled from Tuesday. Students should bring money to purchase a treat of their choice. Price start at $1 plus tax.

Yellow Team Family Night @ Incredible Pizza Company is THIS THURSDAY from 6-8 pm. See link for flier below. I hope to see everyone there!

Family Night

Our MAP kickoff assembly is this Friday at 2:30. Sixth grade students will test next Tuesday and Wednesday over Communication Arts and Math. Please make every effort to have your student here, on time and well rested. Due to MAP testing, there will be no after school clubs or activities next week.

Shhh! Don’t forget! Mr. Nilen’s last day is Friday, May 2nd. If you’d like to contribute to the team gift, send in $1 by next week!

Have a great week!
